Direct Support Professional

Job Description

Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
Charting or taking notes for others to review
Providing companionship and supportive listening
Reporting changes in the health or status of the client
Feeding clients, Light housekeeping and laundry, assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living – e.g. Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing.
Maintaining patient’s health equipment
Responding to emergency situations
Administering medication
Transporting client to appointments
Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Must pass Level 2 / (criminal) background screening.
High School diploma or GED, Minimum 18 years of age
One year of DSP, Teaching, or working with individuals with special needs
Participate in ongoing training (HIPAA, Core Competency, Zero Tolerance, CPR/First Aid, etc.)

Job Title: DSP (Direct Support Professional) / Driver

Location: Group Home, North Fort Myers, Florida

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to assist clients in a group home setting. The role involves supporting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and providing transportation to and from their day programs using the group home's mini van. A valid Class E driver's license is required; no other special class driver's license is necessary.

Weekly Schedule

Hours: 30HRS/WK

Mondays – 3hrs

Mornings – 8:00am to 9:00am (1hr) Afternoon – 1:00pm to 3:00pm (2hrs)

Tuesdays – 8hrs

Mornings – 7:00am to 9:00am (2hrs) Afternoons – 1:00pm to 7:00pm (6hrs)

Wednesdays – 8hrs

Mornings – 7:00am to 9:00am (2hrs) Afternoons – 1:00pm to 7:00pm (6hrs)

Thursdays – 8hrs

Mornings – 7:00am to 9:00am (2hrs)

Afternoons – 1:00pm to 7:00pm (6hrs)

Fridays – 3hrs

Mornings – 8:00am to 9:00am (1hr)

Afternoons - 1:00pm to 3:00pm (2hrs)
